About Reiki Energy healing
Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance - including imbalances of the thyroid, adrenals, liver, lungs, heart and mind.
Offer Reiki to the entire body to balance all 7 energetic chakras, with special attention to the Fifth Chakra/Throat Chakra when I notice a blockage here or someone comes to me with a thyroid concern.
Located in the base of the throat, the Throat Chakra helps us to speak our truth. It deals with the issues of creativity, communication, and the will to live. Physical manifestation of this chakra's imbalances may show up as thyroid problems, TMJ, sore throat, swollen glands, or scoliosis.
Emotionally, we are afraid of silence, fearful of being judged and rejected, and imbalances in this chakra can also be connected to addiction. When Reiki is performed to help clear this chakra, we become more able to express ourselves or follow our dreams.
A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is calming and relaxing and is often utilized for long-term personal wellness.
Reiki is a modality that can be done quite effectively via distance since energy is fundamentally transcendent. It doesn't have physical limitations.
Note: Chronic health issues tend to take longer to heal than acute ones, but the number of treatments needed for each person and each issue will vary.
Acute problems generally heal faster than chronic ones and if your problem is of long standing it may require treatments over a longer period of time. For chronic health concerns, I have seen best results with a number of treatments close together or 4 treatments on consecutive days. However you should feel free to make the decision about the spacing of treatments yourself. You are ultimately responsible for your own health and well being.
Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness, but it may assist the body in creating an environment to facilitate healing. Reiki is a great tool to use as a complement to traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals and medical care settings.
Healing is a process, not an event.
Distance Reiki works according to the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which holds that we are all connected, as we are all energy matter and part of a larger whole. As such, invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows the practitioner to link an object to the energy field of the recipient. I typically use the recipient's photo along with a healing crystal.
We set up a mutual time where you are open to receiving energy. During sessions, which I often do via phone, I've even had people say things to me like, "Were you just working on my heart?" Or, "I felt my thyroid tingling just now and I gasped for breath as I felt a huge opening in my throat." And indeed, it would be the place where my "psychic hands" were working.
Moreover, many of the clients I work with will relay the very same Reiki benefits back to me after a session. They report feelings of relaxation, happiness, empowerment, ease and relief from physical and emotional pain. My distance Reiki clients even seem to have more breakthroughs than those whom I work with in person, perhaps because their energetic experiences feel even more powerful when they are not physically present with me.
Prayer and energy healing works when we believe we can send others our love, blessings and intentions, connecting through the power of whomever our God / Source / Nature happens to be. I believe that Reiki works on similar principles, and that using that universal life force energy (the source of Reiki energy) is also the same as "God energy."
We all have access to this life force energy, otherwise known as our Chi, Qi or prana, as it flows through each and every living being. Distance Reiki provides just one of many ways to link to and channel this energy for the healing benefit of others.
